Where’s it from

The Karimikui factory, located in Ngairiama within Kirinyaga's Gichugu division, is part of the respected Rungeto Farmers Coop Society, which also includes Kiangoi and Kii factories. Founded in 1953, this cooperative now has over 3,500 smallholder members, each cultivating coffee on about one hectare alongside other crops. Kirinyaga’s fertile red volcanic soil, high altitudes (1700-1900m), and annual rainfall (1600-1900mm) create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, producing beans with a unique terroir. The cooperative’s farmers pride themselves on meticulous, sustainable practices that highlight the region’s rich natural resources, resulting in an exceptional coffee profile.
