We began as a micro-roastery, founded in 2013 by Francesco Sanapo, an award-winning barista champion and taster, and Patrick Hoffer. Ditta Artigianale's purpose and mission are to bring exceptional-quality coffee to Italy and tell its story in a completely different way, offering total transparency and a commitment to sustainability at every stage of production and for everyone involved.

Ditta Artigianale is a dream come true. In fact, for several years, after years of research and study around the world into the different systems and ways of understanding coffee, Patrick and Francesco had dreamed of bringing the specialty coffee movement to the Italian and European markets. Ditta Artigianale is an Italian roastery with an international outlook.
We love telling the story of coffee, and we love traveling to the farthest places to find exclusive coffees, then roasting them with care to bring out all their aromas.
We want to spread coffee culture
Following the creation of the micro-roastery, the desire to get closer to people, communicate directly on the street, and share the coffee experience with customers grew. This desire for connection took shape with the opening of the first coffee bar, Ditta Artigianale, located at 32r Via de’ Neri, marking the beginning of the journey that led to the opening of five venues in Florence.
A unique experience
With its coffee shop in the heart of Florence, Ditta Artigianale aims to connect the different stages of the supply chain, all the way to the direct consumer. Ditta Artigianale focuses on sourcing the most exclusive micro-lots, building direct relationships with individual producers, and roasting the coffee to bring out its unique characteristics before serving it to the end consumer, for a unique, high-quality experience.
