Honduras El Puente Farm Field Blend

The Field Blend originates from the continuous research work carried out at Finca el Puente on African varieties grown in different plots. The goal is to understand which varieties express the best aromatic potential and how they can be combined to create unique flavor profiles.

During the harvest, the team tastes the different varieties multiple times and experiments with different combinations. However, this blend was created almost by chance: after a cupping session, some beans from four varieties grown in the four areas of the plantation were left over. They were mixed and used for the afternoon coffee — and the result was surprising. The cup obtained exceeded all expectations.

The next day, each variety was roasted separately to replicate and refine the profile. After several tests, the ideal ratios were defined to recreate that same exceptional cup.

The definitive Field Blend combines SL28, Batian, Geisha, and Ethiopian varieties, sourced from the four areas of the farm where these plants grow. A blend born from innovation, curiosity, and a stroke of luck that turned out to be extraordinary.
