Best Roaster in Italy
We are truly happy to share news that means so much to us: Francesco Masciullo, our Head of Coffee, has won the 2026 Italian Coffee Roasting Championship, earning the title of Best Roaster in Italy.
A result that well tells who we are and how we work every day, often away from the spotlight, but always with great attention to what ends up in the cup.

Francesco's journey
Francesco has been with us for years and his journey has grown step by step within Ditta Artigianale. Born in 1991, from Salento, he approached the world of coffee driven by curiosity and a strong desire to understand what really lies behind every espresso.
In 2017 he won the Italian Barista Championship: an experience that marked an important turning point and led him to deepen his knowledge of coffee, until he fell in love with roasting. A job made of study, continuous tastings, mistakes, attempts, and a lot of research.
Over the years, Francesco has developed a great sensitivity in reading green coffee and transforming it, through roasting, into something that truly tells its origin. Today, as Head of Coffee, he oversees every phase with a clear goal: to respect the coffee's identity and enhance its natural characteristics.
"This victory for me is the result of a long journey made up of many people who have taught me something. Roasting is an ancient craft, often little visible, but it is there that the taste of the coffee we drink every day is born."
Behind every cup
Francesco's victory is also a recognition of the value of roasting: a silent but essential job, where technique and sensitivity must coexist.
For us at Ditta Artigianale, this is a moment of great pride, but also an incentive to keep doing what we do every day: selecting, roasting, and telling the story of coffee with care and passion.
And this, for us, is just the beginning. ☕
