Guess the Cup is a coffee tasting gathering in Italy designed for coffee enthusiasts who are not professionals wishing to experience an engaging, educational, and competitive coffee tasting.
A true coffee contest, where the palate takes center stage in a tasting and speed competition.
Coffee tasting: how the event works
During this coffee tasting gathering, participants will be presented with 6 cups of 6 different coffees, each numbered.
The goal will be to match each cup to a tasting sheet consisting of 6 questions about the coffee’s sensory features.
The coffee tasting will be done using batch brew preparation, allowing each participant to serve themselves directly from the thermos and freely manage the tasting.
Timed coffee contest
A Timekeeper will follow each competitor during the test.
The time will start at the signal and end with the submission of the completed sheet.
In this coffee contest, accuracy and speed are crucial to advance to the final stage.
Final of the coffee tasting gathering
The top 3 participants will advance to the final round, the concluding phase of the coffee contest.
The final will consist of a coffee tasting made up of 5 triplets of cups, in which 2 out of 3 coffees are the same.
The participant must identify the 5 different cups in the shortest time possible.
The time will be measured from the start of the round until the declaration of the end of the test. Until then, it will be possible to change one’s choice.
Who can take part in the coffee contest
This coffee tasting gathering in Italy is open exclusively to coffee enthusiasts who are not professionals.
Participation is not allowed for those working in the coffee sector or people connected to Specialty Coffee or Ditta Artigianale.
